Instrumentopia is a non-profit charitable foundation founded by youths who are passionate about music. We perform at a varieties of nursing homes all over Richmond and Vancouver. Melodies are brought to you with the piano, flute, guzheng, and more. We strive to provide our community with joy and happiness.

Jason Song is currently an 12th grade student attending Steveston-London Secondary School. Lawrence Luo is a current is a current G12 student at Port Moody Secondary School. ince a young age, Lawrence has been competing and performing music at the highest levels including performing at Carnegie Hall at the age of 6 as well as becoming finalists and winning numerous local and international piano competitions. Lawrence has been deeply passionate about classical piano performance as well as helping increase access to all types of music to everyone who wants to participate or watch which is why he is greatly honoured to be an executive of SpotYourLight this year.

Herman Li is a senior at J.N. Burnett Secondary School. As Vice President of Instrumentopia, he looks forward to assisting with planning, logistics, outreaching, and of course, performing for the numerous events we go to. He enjoy playing the piano and violin, and can play a variety of genres including classical and pop.

I am a passionate piano player who sees music as a way to express myself and release stress. Moreover, playing the piano allows me to turn emotions into a music piece while constantly pushing myself to grow and develop. Music is more than a hobby, but rather an important part of who I am.

Lead Performer
Kayleigh Zhao and is a current senior at Steveston-London Secondary School. She is dedicated to singing for many of Instrumentopia’s performances, helping plan out some of the logistics, and bringing out the best out of everyone each time! Some of her hobbies outside of singing include art and calligraphy.

Joshua Wu is a current 12th grader at Prince of Wales Secondary. At the age of 5, his inspiration from classical concerts sparked his passion for music. Apart from playing the violin, he also loves jamming on the electric guitar and performing worship songs at church.

My name is Mateen, a current senior at Steveston-London Secondary School, and I love to play the electric guitar. Whenever the seniors seem a bit bored of classical or jazz, I’m always there to bring some rock into the mix! Of course, when playing electric guitar solos, I always try to bring some vocal melody into it as well

Of course, when playing electric guitar solos, I always try to bring some vocal melody into it as well, making my performance as enjoyable as possible. Some of my other hobbies include playing video games and solving rubiks cubes.

Lead Performer
Alan Li is a current 8th grade student at J.N. Burnett Secondary school. He loves to play the piano and his favourite composer is Franz Liszt. He is always excited to learn more pieces to pring to the residents of nursing centres, and he is willing to gain additional expertise in setting up and planning for performances.

Logistics Director
Anson is a current senior at Steveston-London Secondary school, and he serves as the main logistics coordinator for Instrumentopia. Along with Jason, he helps set up each performance, including helping with speakers, microphones, mic stands, program printing and more.

Outreach Director
My name is Emma, and I’m a G11 student at Sentinel Secondary School. I primarily assist with outreach coordinating, helping draft and send many emails. I enjoy playing piano, playing tennis and drawing. I love animals. I’m a friendly person who wants to bring positive change to out community.

Media Manager
Aaron is a current senior at Steveston-London Secondary school, and he assists Jason with the design and maintenance of the Instrumentopia website. He maintains regular check-ups and fix small bugs that may occur
